Our Process

Assesment and preparation

Our team begins by conducting a inspection of your roof to assess the extent of moss buildup and take into account any access issues. We then take necessary precautions to protect surrounding landscape. Any loose debris is carefully removed to create an accessible surface for the manual scraping and the mobile scaffold tower.

Manual scraping

Our team use specialized tools to manually scrape off moss, algae, and other debris from your roof’s surface. We take care not to damage the roof tiles while ensuring the removal of the bulk of visible moss, algae or lichen. Manual scraping is the safest method of roof cleaning.

Biocide treatment and Application

Following the manual scraping, we apply a biocide treatment to your roof. This specially formulated solution is designed to target and kill remaining moss spores, preventing their regrowth. The biocide treatment provides long-lasting protection, enhancing the longevity of your roof and maintaining and improving its appearance over time.

Inspection and Cleanup

Once the biocide treatment has been applied, we look to ensure that every inch of your roof is free from visible moss and lichen. Finally we begin the cleanup, our aim is to clean any mess we made on your property, leaving it cleaner than we found it. Any waste is taken away by us and disposed of correctly.

Roof cleaning products we use

Our preferred product is BAC50. After trying a few of the other biocide brands we found this produces the best results. Bac50 is also environmentally safe – an important factor for us at cedar cleaning Here is an exaple below, we cleaned this roof in camberley in may 2023 here is the roof in December! Remember, no harsh cleaning methods were used, only the safest way both for your roof and us: a manual moss scrape followed by a soft wash biocide treatment.
